Day 1 - Flinders Ranges
Tour Itinerary (Adelaide to Perth 10 Day Tour)
Journey into the rusty, rugged gorges, abandoned homesteads and ghost gums of the southern Flinders Ranges National Park. Experience life of the early pioneers with a camel trek.
Our scheduled departure point is from the Adelaide Bus Station, 101 Flinders Street Adelaide at 7.00 am.
We head north to one of earth's oldest mountain ranges, the Flinders Ranges where we will meet our camels for a trek through this gorgeous landscape. Camels have a long history in Australia as they were the premier form of transport in this harsh environment. Today Australia boasts the largest wild camel population on the planet.
After a hour trek around Devils Peak, we thenstop off along the way to take in typical rural cities and towns before we head bush into the Gawler Ranges.
At the end of the first day’s journey we arrive at Lake Gairdner - for a magical sunset. Many of our customers believe that the contrast in colours vival that of Uluru as the sun set over the crystal white salt lake.
The ideal setting for our first bush camp.
